Lightbulb Illustration in Sketched Style

Case Study: Practicum

The first episode of Interview With the Vampire, AMC’s ambitious new series, plunges viewers directly into a cold open: an advertisement for a Masterclass-like journalism course by Daniel Molloy, the titular “Interviewer.”

As part of the launch of the series, AMC’s marketing team wanted to build out an in-world site for the course, and approached Fishbulb for the site design.

Designs

On a tight deadline, extrapolating from the AfterEffects assets used in the episode, we developed a responsive site design, with an eye toward efficiencies that would allow for a swift development cycle.

Desktop

A complete page-length image of the desktop design for an in-world website for AMC's series Interview with a Vampire. It is a journalism course on a site called Practicum conducted by the character of Daniel Molloy, portrayed by Eric Bogosian. It features a hero image of Daniel, an outline of the course, a trailer, biographical details, and the fictional covers of the books the character has written.

Mobile

A complete page-length image of the mobile design for an in-world website for AMC's series Interview with a Vampire. It is a journalism course on a site called Practicum conducted by the character of Daniel Molloy, portrayed by Eric Bogosian. It features a hero image of Daniel, an outline of the course, a trailer, biographical details, and the fictional covers of the books the character has written.

Annotations

To assist with development, a full set of annotated designs were produced, with minimum and maximum layouts for each breakpoint and detailed notes on the specifics of appearance and interactions.

An overview of all the design elements provided for the Practicum site, including mobile, desktop, annotations, and other elements.

Mobile Annotations

Full annotations for the mobile version of the design, outlining colors, padding and margins, and interactions.

Global Notes

Global Notes & Elements for the design, including Colors, Typography scaling and specifics, states for the header bar and submenu, as well as icons and social links.

Transmedia and in-world projects are one of our favorite kinds of work to do; this was no exception.
