Process & Next Steps

You know what we do. But that’s only part of the equation. Now it’s time to talk about how the work gets done.

So you're looking for a designer . . .

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably seen so! many! portfolios! Maybe you’ve even hired a few agencies in the past. But if you’re out here looking for someone new, our guess is that their work didn’t get the results you needed.

And perhaps that was a result of the creative you ended up with. Perhaps.

More often than not, we hear that the reason folks are looking for a new designer is because their prior experiences were, frankly, a pain in the ass.

We’re very proud of the work we do. We strive to do the very best for every single one of our clients, to make sure we’re addressing not only the immediate ask (‘I need a website’) but also their long-term vision and goals. And we think we make it all look pretty good, too. But over and above those deliverables, we want to establish clear project expectations, open communication, and a smooth process end-to-end. This sort of personal attention is exactly why we’re dedicated to staying a small, boutique firm.

“Gabe was a lifesaver. His coming on board allowed me to give Flame Con’s administrative work the attention it deserved, without having to worry about the creative aspects; I knew the tasks were in safe hands. He is reliable, responsive, collaborative, and talented.”

That all sounds great, what's the next step?

Ready to get started? That's fantastic. Usually, the first step is to send us an email query, or set up a (free!) consultation call, as per your preference.

Don't worry, this isn't the moment we go in for the hard sell.

It's important to us that any prospective client is excited to get on board; you won't encounter any high-pressure tactics. Just a genuine desire to hear about your needs and challenges, and a frank assessment of whether we're the right folks to take it on.

Calls not really your thing?

And then what happens?

After our conversation, we formalize the deliverables in a proposal and send it on over to you. If you like what you see, we both sign it and you send the first payment to reserve a spot in our calendar.

We’re big on process. Every project we do has a one-stop project hub where everything lives: you’ll know what you’re getting, and when you’re getting it.

No more chasing down that two-week-old instruction email that somehow got purged from your inbox, no more confusing wait-which-revision is-this? salvos. Just what you need, organized and ready for you.

We'll flesh out the specifics of the project, including any materials we'll need from you, as well as timelines for each stage and a complete scope of work. This will all live in the hub, along with all file uploads, deadlines, feedback, and other project details.

Then we get to work on a design geared toward achieving the objectives we discussed up-front. You provide timely feedback and we deliver the final product.

Let's get to work.
